    Fiction to question reality. Jim Sheridan embarks on a journey through facts and lies behind the unsolved murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, giving her back a voice that was abruptly interrupted and helping those grieving find closure.
     
    In a fictitious trial, twelve members of a jury must decide whether British journalist Ian Bailey is guilty of the murder of French filmmaker Sophie Toscan Du Plantier in 1996. Based on real events, the film reconstructs, through the discussions between these twelve people, a case that ultimately invites the viewer to draw their own conclusions.

    AFONSO'S SMILE

    After the 1974 Carnation Revolution, 16-year-old Afonso returns to Lisbon from Macau to live with his mother, Noémia, and her English journalist boyfriend, Chris. Drawn to Chris through literature, he grapples with desire and identity, taking bold risks in pursuit of self-discovery amidst a changing Portugal.

    When twelve-year-old Toma meets his father Nemo for the first time, they set out on a journey into the mountains and learn what it means to be a father and a son but they also learn about life and death .
